A little bit about me: I started at HMS in 2015. I grew up in Keller, TX and graduated from Keller High School in 2012. I then decided to go to Dallas Baptist University to pursue a degree in Education. I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in 4-8 Math Education in 2016. Ever since my middle school math teacher made math fun, relevant to my life, and showed me that she wanted me to succeed, I knew I wanted to become a teacher just like her.
I didn't always like math, in fact I struggled with math until my 7th grade year. I know the concepts and the tools that students struggle with in middle school math because I also had a hard time learning them. But I have made it my goal to teach math concepts in various ways using methods that are proven to help students succeed. I hope that each of my students will find the love of math that I found during my 7th grade year because of my awesome math teacher.
I got married to my high school sweetheart, Tyler, in June of 2015. We have a beautiful 3 year old daughter named Kinsley, and she has been everything we had ever dreamed of.
