GCISD will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. Starting Tuesday, May 26, the GCISD Administration Offices will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday through Thursday, closed Fridays. Summer hours continue through July.

GCISD is offering free breakfast and lunch to all children 18 and younger this summer through the federally-funded Summer Food Service Program.

📅 Dates: Monday-Friday, May 26-July 30 (Closed Friday, June 19, and Friday, July 3).
🕒 Hours: Breakfast is 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch is 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m.

Meals must be eaten on-site.

Today is Speech Language Pathologist Day! Our amazing speech language pathologists work with students from age three until graduation in building their fluency, articulation and social skills. We are so grateful to have these talented professionals!

This week, the Grapevine-Colleyville Education Foundation surprised 18 GCISD educators with spring STAR Teaching Grants totaling nearly $35,000! These grants fund projects that benefit students by enhancing existing programs or funding innovative class projects.

Bransford Elementary School and Dove Elementary School hosted memorable Legacy events last week. Attended by past and current students, families and staff, the events celebrated friendships, traditions and memories of these two special and remarkable campuses. Thank you to the campus legacy committees for their dedication in organizing such meaningful tributes to showcase how the spirit of Bransford and Dove lives on through the incredible people who walked their halls.

🍧📚 Sweet rewards for hard work! Congratulations to all of our Pre-K through 5th grade students who participated in the reading challenge! Students who read at least 300 minutes earned a special treat from Kona Ice! We are so proud of their dedication to reading and learning. Keep turning those pages! 📖✨

Check out this heartwarming news from Dove Elementary School! Thanks to Wish for Wheels and Charles Schwab, several second graders received the gift of brand new bicycles. The school’s counselor applied for the philanthropic experience, and the Charles Schwab team came out Tuesday to help build the bikes and teach the students how to ride them safely.

Today was the awards luncheon for our Special Olympics athletes! The event is annually hosted by the Grapevine Rotary to celebrate our special athletes for participating in events throughout the year. What a great day!

Happy School Nurse Day! Today, we recognize the amazing nurses across GCISD who keep our students healthy, safe and ready to learn. From caring for injuries and managing chronic conditions to performing health screenings, our school nurses are true heroes in every sense.

Thank you to everyone who came out for Walk a Mile 2026 yesterday! A special shout out to community partner Baylor Scott & White for providing their experts who shared information about children’s health topics and gave out children’s bike helmets–for free.
