WE ARE FEELING DUCKY IN APRIL!!! Ducks are calm, cool, and collected on the surface, but paddling like crazy underneath the water! We know our students, staff, and families are doing the same!! Every school day in April, we will draw a number during morning announcements, and the class with that number on the bottom of their duck will win a prize! Students must be present to win. Thank you for paddling so hard and making sure your student is at school, ON TIME, and READY TO LEARN!!

Tuesday, April 2nd is Autism Awareness Day! Wear blue to show your support!

All Dove Elementary students and staff will go outside at 1:20 on Monday, April 8, and stay outside for about 30 minutes to view the path to totality and the total solar eclipse. We understand there may be individual parent concerns, and if so, you may opt-out if you do not want your child to participate. There will be an opportunity for students who have opted out to view a live stream of the eclipse from inside. This way each student will have the ability to take part in viewing this event. Total Solar Eclipse - April 8, 2024 On April 8, 2024, there will be a rare and captivating astronomical phenomenon—a total solar eclipse of the sun in the North Texas area! GCISD, in partnership with the Perot Museum, is equipping all students and staff with a pair of ISO certified safety glasses for safe viewing of the eclipse. Each campus in GCISD will offer engaging solar eclipse activities and experiences for students to enjoy. More details will be shared as we approach this remarkable event. What is your grade level planning to help students learn more about the Eclipse and appreciate this once in a lifetime moment? Add your plans HERE!! College & Career Day Presenters Needed We are looking for volunteers to present at our College & Career Day for our students Pre-K - 5th grade on Monday, May 13. Please pass the following information along to any friends or family members who you think would be a good fit! Our hope is for students to gain knowledge about possible careers/jobs and the college and/or experiences required to obtain these professions. We would love for you to bring any activities, demonstrations, hands-on materials, or pictures that will help the students better understand your job/career. This information can be found below. Volunteer Background Check Welcome to the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District. We sincerely appreciate the investment of your time as a volunteer. For the protection of students and staff, all volunteer applicants must read the Volunteer Handbook (in Español) and are asked to apply online authorizing the district to obtain a criminal history background check. Please allow 1-2 weeks for this process to be completed. Once you are an approved volunteer, our campus will be notified. Note: All volunteers are required to reapply each year.
