GCISD District Employees of the Year

GCISD announced its district Employees of the Year, Thursday, April 30, at a luncheon co-hosted by the Grapevine and Colleyville chambers of commerce. The event celebrated all of GCISD’s Employees of the Year who were announced in February.

Congratulations to GCISD’s district honorees:

  • Britt McDougal, Timberline Elementary School P.E. teacher and GCISD’s Elementary Teacher of the Year, creates a positive, inclusive environment filled with innovative lessons and learning at every turn, all which build students’ confidence to be their very best. Around campus, McDougal can be found helping everywhere, and attending many school functions to build relationships with students, staff and families.

  • Stephanie Maupin, Cross Timbers Middle School social studies teacher and GCISD’s Secondary Teacher of the Year, designs high-impact learning experiences that engage students in rigorous thinking and help them make meaningful connections to the past and the present. Maupin uses data driven instruction, celebrates students in class, collaborates with colleagues and sends weekly communication to families about their individual student’s progress.

  • Mike Sode, Timberline Elementary School P.E. assistant and GCISD’s Carolyn Frank Paraprofessional of the Year, blends humor, respect and patience into class activities, helping students feel safe to take risks, grow and feel connected. He helped create efficient systems that contribute to class preparation and launched a club to celebrate student progress and victories.

As district Teachers of the Year, McDougal and Maupin now advance as candidates for Region 11 Teacher of the Year, with a chance to represent GCISD in the 2026-2027 state Teacher of the Year competition.
