What a great morning! Today is day 1 of our professional development for all new professional hires. Superintendent Dr. Jason Adams opened the event with a warm welcome, which was then followed by a number of sessions familiarizing everyone with GCISD’s mission, vision and profile of a GCISD educator. More learning will continue this afternoon and tomorrow with a focus on curriculum and instruction. GCISD is hosting a Student Registration Event from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Thursday, July 30, and Thursday, August 6, at the JPS Building (behind Timberline Elementary) 3050 Timberline Dr. Grapevine, TX 76051. Staff will be available to assist families in completing their online registration in Skyward and answer questions. We’re here to help.

Colleyville Middle School, Cross Timbers Middle School, and Heritage Middle School won first, second and third places, respectively, at the recent Texas Music Educators Association regional competition. The competition involves judges evaluating audio recordings of the band’s concerts from the school year. Next up in the competition: Area, to be held Wednesday and Thursday, June 17 and 18.

GCISD Families: Starting June 10, you can access your students’ STAAR End of Course results. STAAR 3-8 results are expected to be available Tuesday, June 16. Log in to the Skyward Family Portal and click “District Links” to see results. Please check your email for additional state assessment release dates issued by the Texas Education Agency.

GCISD will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. Starting Tuesday, May 26, the GCISD Administration Offices will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday through Thursday, closed Fridays. Summer hours continue through July.

GCISD is offering free breakfast and lunch to all children 18 and younger this summer through the federally-funded Summer Food Service Program.

Many members of the Class of 2026 returned to their elementary and middle schools today to walk the halls one last time amid celebratory cheers! Congratulations again to this year’s graduates.

Except for Collegiate Academy and iUniversity Prep, Thursday, May 21, is the last day of school and an early release day for all GCISD campuses.

Today is Speech Language Pathologist Day! Our amazing speech language pathologists work with students from age three until graduation in building their fluency, articulation and social skills. We are so grateful to have these talented professionals!

This week, the Grapevine-Colleyville Education Foundation surprised 18 GCISD educators with spring STAR Teaching Grants totaling nearly $35,000! These grants fund projects that benefit students by enhancing existing programs or funding innovative class projects.
